Levi = "joined to"

the 3rd son of Jacob by Leah and progenitor of tribe of Levites

 

Gen 29:34 KJV - And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

Gen 49:1 KJV - And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.
